Our Patient-Focused Process is as easy as 1, 2, 3…

Step 1

The first step is calling our office or completing a form on-line to schedule an appointment.

One of our spine care specialists will call you to get all the information we need for your first visit, including insurance information and access to any digital imaging you may have. Our spine care specialist will also send you an on-line survey to help us more accurately identify the source of your pain. Your spine care specialist will get back with you regarding our plan before you arrive for your visit. If you would like to get the process started on-line, click here or go to our On-line In Take section. Our spine care specialist will also send you an on-line survey to help us more accurately identify the source of your pain. Once we have your survey results and access to your imaging, our surgeons will conduct a FREE MRI review. Your spine care specialist will get back with you regarding the results of this review before you visit so you know what our recommended treatment plan is before you visit.

At your appointment, we will begin by welcoming you!

Next you will go to an exam room to have a complete physical exam to confirm the information presented in case conference and better understand your current situation. For most cases, the next step is to walk down the hall and have a block – a needle injection – to allow us to confirm we have correctly isolated your pain. Blocks are performed in our injection suite at the Phoenix Spine surgery center – no additional appointments are needed. Once your block is done, you will then spend a few hours relaxing in our activity room – so we can evaluate the effectiveness of the block in eliminating the source of your pain.

Step 3

For the vast majority of patients for whom the block is successful, your surgeon can then perform ultra-minimally invasive surgery to permanently relieve your pain.

We will prepare you in the preoperative area. Surgeries are performed on-site at the Phoenix Spine surgery center that day – so no additional appointment is needed. Most patients have mild discomfort for up to 72 hours after the procedure — and then you should be back in the game!
